Dolores M. Zmek, 82, of Dannebrog died Monday, May 24, 1999, at the Howard County Community Hospital in St. Paul.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Farwell. The Revs. Larry Coulter and David Rykwalder will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul.
A CCW rosary will be recited at 4 p.m., and a wake service will be at 7:30 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Further visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mrs. Zmek was born on Dec. 4, 1916, in Central City to Alfred and Rose (Trainor) Power. She was raised in Central City and educated in the Central City public schools.
She married Lewis Zmek on Nov. 27, 1940, in Central City. The couple farmed in the Chapman and Central City areas until March 1957, when they moved to a farm north of Dannebrog. She was active in the farming operation.
Her hobbies included quilting, embroidery, gardening and flowers. She also
helped make quilts at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and its altar society in Farwell and the Platt-Duetsche in Grand Island.
Survivors include two daughters, Vir Jeanne (Mrs. John) Baker of Grand Island and Sandra (Mrs. Ernest) Kosmicki of Dannebrog; four granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret (Mrs. Les) Chambers of Grand
Island.
Her husband died on Feb. 18, 1999. She also was preceded by one son, Galen; five brothers, Vince, Jamie, Rich, Owen and Bob Power; and five sisters, Charlotte Pierce, Phyllis Williams, Theresa Drusseau, Dorothy Armatys and Agnes Clouse.
