But her maiden name is listed as Mary E. Cooper in the Newton, Middlesex, Massachusetts Vital Record of the death of his brother Francis Mills. This writer believes that the former name most likely is correct given the large number of references to Mary A. Mills in the vital records pertaining to most of the children of William and Mary Mills.
