Born in Jacksonville Florida, he was reared in Grand Crossing, Florida. At school age he attended the public schools of Jacksonville. He was happily united in marriage on March 30, 1941 to Cora Lee Middlebrooks, the couple had no children. Moore was employed by Winn Dixie (Bakery) for 31 years. Because of ill health, he retired in 1977. In 1942 he accepted Christ as his Saviour and joined Zion Hope Baptist Church of Jacksonville under the pastorate of Rev. E. R. Simpson. He served the church as member of District #14 until he was drafted in the Army, World War II, 1944-1946. William Moore departed this life at a local Jacksonville hospital in 1980.
