Virginia Yancey True, 90, of Owen County, died July 27, 2005, at her residence. Born Jan. 15, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Cort Yancey and Rena Lusby Yancy. She was a housewife and member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Glen A. True, Bill True and Bruce True, all of Poplar Grove; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.H. "Whitey" True, and a brother, Herschel Yancey.
Funeral services were held July 30 at McDonald & New Funeral Homes with the Rev. Adam Polk officiating. Pall bearers were Jim True, John True, Billy True, Chris True, Pete Shirlow and Nick Miller. Burial was in Poplar Grove Cemetery.
