Spc. William Justin Byler, 23 of Ballinger, died Monday, October 31, 2005 in the line of duty while serving his country in Iraq.

Justin was born on February 13, 1982 in Ballinger, Texas to Will and Karen Jansa Byler. He graduated from Ballinger High School in 2000 and enlisted in the US Army in August of 2002. He was last stationed at Ft. Campbell in Kentucky.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena. Justin enjoyed hunting and fishing and hanging with his buddies. He enjoyed life and loved his God, his family, his country and his friends very much.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents W.J. and Wanda Byler and an uncle, Hamp Byler.

Justin is survived by his parents, Will and Karen of Ballinger; his favorite sister Lindsey and brothers Russell and Ryan and cousins Kasey, Jett, Kennedy; his maternal grandparents, Paul and Ethel Jansa of Rowena; his aunts and uncles, Diane and Roy Fuchs and children, Tiffany, Brittany and Danielle, Connie and Kerry Glass and children, Heather, Shawn and Nathan, Steve and Theresa Jansa and children, Slade and Kalli, Mitchell and Lynett, Jansa and children, Chasity and Leslie, Deborah and Clay Earnshaw and children, Jeffery and Wesley, Mary and Wayne Vaughn and children, Zachary and Hannah, Paula and Jerry Don Vinson and children, Shelby, Tori and Colton, Wagner and Tara Byler and children, Michelle, Misty, Jarret, Ashley and Hunter.

Numerous great aunts and uncles and cousins and a host of friends also survive.

A wake service will be held for Justin Tuesday evening, November 8 at 7:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at St. Joseph Church. The Principle Con — Celebrants will be Bishop Michael Peifer, O.M.I., Bishop of the San Angelo Dioceses and Bishop Leroy Matthiesen, Emeritus, retired bishop of the Amarillo Dioceses. Other Con-Celebrants will be Fr. Hugh Wade and Fr. Bhasker Morugudi and a host of others. Military graveside services will follow in the Old Runnels Cemetery in Ballinger. Arrangements are with Rains-Seale Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Book, Jared Wheeless, Branden Halfmann, Justin Pullin, Jim Harrel, Jeffery Earnshaw, Aron King, Alan King, Shawn Glass, Nathan Glass, Jarret Byler, Slade Jansa, Robbie Cook and Cody Cook.
