Longtime Dietitian at the former Atlanta University (Now Clark Atlanta Univ.). Born to the late John W. McCree, Sr. and Josephine M. McCree. She was married to Dr. Melvin D. Kennedy, Sr. and the mother of two sons. She furthered her education at Spelman College (1927), Alabama State College and Bennett College. She resided in Chicago, Illinois for several years before returning to Atlanta, where she spent the rest of her life. After her death, the dining hall at Clark Atlanta was named in her honor.
