Wife of John Purcell Graham. Possibly the daughter of Jimmy "of Rockfish" McNeill of Cumberland Co., North Carolina. Although her exact parentage has not been proven, there is documentation indicating she was related to the McNeill families that lived along the Drowning Creek section of the Lumber River, in the Quewhiffle & Buffalo Creek areas of what is now Hoke County, NC.

After marrying, she and her husband made their home in Richmond Co., NC, near Blue's Bridge, the dividing landmark for Cumberland and Richmond Counties. It was here that the couple raised their children. They were early members of the Bethesda Presbyterian Church, then located near the Head of Rockfish Creek. Although not the original structure or location, the Old Bethesda Church has been preserved as a historical landmark, located near the town of Aberdeen in Moore Co., NC.

In or about 1836, she and her husband (along with most if not all of their adult children) migrated to Nixburg in Coosa Co., Alabama. Once there, she and her husband help organize the Carolina Presbyterian Church.

In the years following her death, some of her descendants migrated to Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, where they established the Alabama Presbyterian Church.

Louisiana Tech University has a special collection of Graham Family Papers. More information on this special collection can be found online: http://www.latech.edu/specialcollections/collections/m089.shtml
