Ronald Earl Bliss, 78, Kokomo, passed away at 3:23 PM Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born August 22, 1935 in Kokomo, to the late Chester L. and Mary Lou (Thompson) Bliss. He first married Rita Carol (Snyder) on August 14, 1955; she preceded him in death on December 10, 1978. He then married Louellen (Holt) on June 2, 1979; and she preceded him in death on October 29, 2004.
Ronald had worked at Blount Buick in Winter Haven, Florida, as an auto tech. He also had worked at Conkle Pontiac and Standard Oil Gas Station in Kokomo. Ronald enjoyed fishing, cooking, NASCAR, bingo, but especially enjoyed being with his family.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law; David and Sheila Bliss, Lafayette, Daniel and Sharon Bliss, Polo, Illinois, Pastor Dale and Julie Bliss, Kokomo, a daughter and a son-in-law; Rhonda and Jack Scott, Winter Haven, Florida. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, a brother and a sister-in-law; Joe and Ginger Bliss, Kokomo, a sister and a brother-in-law; Nancy and Joe Maple, Unicoi, TN.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 18, 2014 Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, with his son, Pastor Dale Bliss officiating. Burial will follow at Crown Point Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 PM Friday, January 17, 2014 at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be directed to Maple Grove Community Church, envelopes will be provided at the mortuary. Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
