ESTHERVILLE - Funeral services for Geraldine "Gerry" Johnson, 80, of Estherville will be held at at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Estherville.
She died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at her home in Estherville.

Geraldine "Gerry" Theresa (Brown) Johnson the daughter of David and Jeannette (Dixon) Brown was born May 4, 1933 in Boston, Massachusetts. She died on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at her home in Estherville, Iowa at the age of 80.
She received her education at the Roxbury Girls High School in Boston.
On October 6, 1951, she was united in marriage to Marvin "Bud" Johnson in Boston. They lived in the Boston area for a short time where they began their family. In 1955, the family moved to Estherville to make their home. Gerry was employed with Berkley's in Spirit Lake, Iowa for 30 years, retiring in 1998. For hobbies she enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, camping, fishing and her computer. Gerry lost her husband Bud on December 2, 2010.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville where she was active with the Catholic Daughters and Altar Society and also served on the Peace and Justice Committee and the VFW Auxiliary.
Left to cherish Gerry's memory are her daughters, Lois and the late Don Christians of Estherville; Donna Hovick of Estherville; Teresa Mustard and her husband, Bruce of Des Moines, Iowa; Sandy and the late Tim Mann of Estherville; Marie and the late John Spangler of Spirit Lake, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and her sister, Barbara Hewitt of Quincy, Massachusetts and her daughters, Karen, Barbara, Claire and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Ann Johnson of Neenah, Wisconsin.
She has been preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Michael Edward and Martin Edward; grandson, Shawn Hovick; sons-in-law, John Spangler, Tim Mann and Don Christians; her parents; two sisters, Lois Brown and Marie Roux; and brother, Jackie Dixon. (MC)
