Mr. Bobby G. Atkins, 71, of Greensboro died Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, at his residence.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Sure Foundation Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Gilmore Memorial Park.

Bobby was an active member at Sure Foundation Baptist Church. He had also served with the National Guard. After Bobby retired from Estes Express Lines, he loved playing golf with his other retired friends.

A sister, Louise Clayton and a brother, Larry Wayne Atkins, preceded Mr. Atkins in death.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and he will be missed by Mary, his wife of 17 years; sons Bobby G. Atkins Jr. and wife Audrey of Pleasant Garden, Rick Atkins of Greensboro, and Terry Wayne Atkins along with his wife, Ruth Ann of Randleman; step-sons Jeff Anderson of Albemarle and Mark Anderson and his wife, Cindy of Wilmington; step-daughter, Susan Leonard and her husband, Steven of Thomasville; brothers Friel Atkins Jr. and Jack Atkins both of Greensboro and George Atkins of Tallahassee, Fla.; sister Dot Lohr of Greensboro; grandchildren Lesley, Sherry, Heather, Nina, Melanie, and Kimberly; step-grandchildren Jeffrey, Joshua, Justin, and Martina; and six great-grandchildren.
