She was born April 5, 1909 at Spencer, Indiana, the daughter of John and Chloe (Faulkner) Shunk. She and Reed Votaw were married December 18, 1925, at Tuscola, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 15, 1972 at 2:00 p.m. At Stensels' Funeral home, Bellflower, Illinois with Rev. Pat Cox officiating. Organist was Mrs. Opal Albin.
Burial was in the Bellflower Cemetery, Bellflower, Illinois.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Stensel's Funeral Home, Bellflower.

Mrs. Votaw was a member of Walker United Methodist Church, and the WSCS of the church. She also was an avid bowler.
Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Carroll (Bob) Apperson, Gibson City, Illinois; two sisters, Mrs. Shirley Long, Gibson City, Illinois, and Mrs. Wilma Officitt, Danville, Illinois; one brother James Shunk, of Allerton and three grandchildren; Cathy, Bobby and Tammy Apperson, of Gibson City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four daughters, one son, a sister and a brother.
