Paul (Roland) Roberts, 85 of Rices Landing, died Saturday, April 9, 2011 in the Golden Living Center, Waynesburg.

He was born September 9, 1925 in Rices Landing, a son of the late Paul J. and Thelma E. Thistlewaite Roberts.

Mr. Roberts served in the United States Navy during WW II and a member of the Brooks-Crago American Legion Post # 816, Rices Landing.

He was a machinist and partner of Carmichaels Mining Machine in Carmichaels. Prior to opening his own shop he had worked as a mechanic at Crucible Mine.

Mr. Roberts was a member of Hewitt Presbyterian Church, Rices Landing and a former member of the Izaak Walton League, Harry Enstrom Chapter of Greene County.

He has lived most all of his life in Rices Landing.

On November 12, 1948 he married Gloria Efaw Roberts, who survives. Also surviving are five sons, David Roberts and his wife Marlee of Boxborough, MA, Paul Roberts and his wife Bonnie of Rices Landing, Gary Roberts and his wife Heather of Rices Landing, Patrick Roberts and his wife Gege of Rices Landing and Jimmy Roberts and his wife Tine of Jefferson; a daughter in law, Kim Roberts of Rices Landing; 12 grandchildren, Davian, Katie, Amy, Dustin, Danielle, Jason, Nathan, Matthew, Jennie, Hannah, Lindsay and Rachel; five great grandchildren, Shelbie, Molly, Landon, Logan and Avery; a brother, James Roberts of Pataskala, OH and a sister, Shirley DeVilling of Hamilton, OH.

Deceased is a son, Thomas A. Roberts and a sister, Gloria Crayton.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8pm Monday, in the Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road. Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor; where services will be held at 11am, Tues, April 12, 2011, with the Rev. Dr. Donald P. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.
