Mrs. Barnes, 77, moved to Amarillo in 1959 and married Carl Dean Barnes there that year. She was preceded by parents Revada "Red" and Paula Helton, sisters Martha Helton, Pauline Fritts, Louise Helton, and Barbara Wood, and by grandson Kenneth Ray Barnes. She was survived by her daughters Neiva Mae Chambless and her husband Tem of Lakewood, CO, Lisa Marie Gesulga and Jennifer Yuvonne Edwards, both of Amarillo; her sons Carl Lee Barnes and his wife Alicia of Amarillo, Ellis Dean Barnes and his companion Lynn of Denver, and Kevin Dale Barnes of Perryton; sisters Mary Bonita Martin of Napanee, IN, Shirley Ann Olsen and Nancy Sue Carnley and her husband Roger, all of Kennedy; her brother Jackie Robert Helton and his wife Barbara of Amarillo; brothers in law Mike Wood of San Antonio and Cecil Fritts of Amarillo; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Services held at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Tucker officiating. Arrangements by Rector Funeral Home.
