CONCORDIA -- Darlyne G. (Nutter), 96, of Concordia, passed away Jan. 30, 2014. She was born Nov. 23, 1917, in rural Republic County, near Talmo, the daughter of John N. and Matilda J. (Forney) Nutter.

Darlyne was a graduate of Concordia High School, Class of 1935. She was a registered nurse serving in the U.S. Army during World War II as a lieutenant with the American Nurse Corps. On Jan. 4, 1945, she married Dr. Herbert H. Lampert, M.D., at Peoria, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1970. She and her husband were survivors of the 1956 sinking of the Italian luxury liner, Andrea Doria, in the Atlantic Ocean.

Darlyne and Herb had one daughter, Torey Jo Lampert, who preceded them in death in 1967. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters. Survivors include many nieces and nephews.

It was Darlyne's wished to be cremated, and inurnment will be held at a later date at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Glendale, N.Y.
