GROVES, Edwin Davis Sr. "Ed", 92, passed away on Feb. 7, 2014 in Tallahassee. He was born on Oct. 6, 1921 in Byromville, GA and grew up in Orlando. After serving 4 years in the Marine Air Corps during WWII, he received his pharmacy degree from The University of Georgia and moved to Dunedin, FL, where he owned Broadway Pharmacy for over 40 years. Ed served as an elder at First Presbyterian Church of Dunedin. He was the 1959 president of the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce and a long time member of the Rotary Club. He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Catherine (Kitty) Thomas Groves. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Katherine (Kathy) Groves of Homosassa, FL; sons, Dave Groves (Margaret) of Tallahassee, and Robert (Chip) Groves of Hendersonville, NC; grandsons, Davis Groves and John Groves of Tallahassee; and granddaughter, Shannon Groves of Kissimmee, FL. Ed is also survived by his sister, Betty Trammell of Duluth, GA. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 2 pm at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2853 Sunset Point, Clearwater, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make a contribution to Bonclarken Conference Center, 500 Pine Dr., Flat Rock, NC. Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, Clearwater.
