She was born on Oct. 16, 1929 in Vermontville, the daughter of Arthur and Cecelia (Demerse) Swinyer.
She was employed by the Saranac Lake Central School District for 10 years and for many years at the Mac Bushey Store in Vermontville.
She was survived by two daughters: Joyce Ann Durette and Carol Lee Buckson; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a brother, Arthur Swinyer of West Virginia.
She was predeceased by her parents; four sisters: Roubena Law, Margaret Swinyer, Betty Jane and Joyce Swinyer (who died shortly after birth); a son, Ralph "Buster Brown" Buckson, who died at five days old and two nephews: Kerry Swinyer and James Swinyer.
