LORENE MILLS
Lorene Ross Mills, 91, of Texarkana, Ark., died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014.

Mrs. Mills was born June 22, 1922, in Hastings, Okla. She was an English teacher with Fouke, Ark., High School, where she served as sponsor of Beta Club and served as Arkansas State Beta President; recipient of PTA Arkansas Educator of the Year award; a member of Sidney Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron, Miller County Historical Society, Beech Street First Baptist Church and a former member of First Baptist Church, Fouke. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Davis Mills.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Betty Mills and Shane and Peggy Mills of Texarkana; one brother, Henry Ross of Reno, Nev., one sister, Louise Richardson of Comanche, Okla.; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Shirley Mills of Fouke; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Beech Street First Baptist Church with the Rev. Craig Jenkins and Richard Posey

officiating. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery, Fouke, under direction of East Funeral Home, Downtown.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
