Upon his completion of AIT in Sept. 2003, he was assigned to the 23rd Support Group, Camp Humphries, Korea where he served as a 74B, Information System Operator-Analyst. In November 2004, he was assigned to HHC, 1-64 Armor Battalion where he served as a LAN Manager.
While deployed during Operation Iraqi Freedom III, PFC Christensen assisted in the management of a robust and reliable voice and data network that provided SIPR, NIPR, and VOIP phone access for all Brigade units on Camp Rustamiyah. PFC Christensen was actively involved in the installation of over 17,000 feet of network cable, which provided services that covered an area of two square Kilo. In addition, PFC Christensen was instrumental in the operation and upgrade of the Camp Rustamiyah Radio Station.
PFC Christensen died of a non-battle injury/disease after being redeployed back to the states in South Carolina.
