SPC Joshua James "Josh" Munger, 22, St. Joseph, Missouri, was killed in action, November 2, 2005, in Latafiyah, Iraq.

Born May 6, 1983 in St. Joseph, Missouri, he lived all of his life in the St. Joseph, Maysville area. He graduated from Central High School in 2002.

On April 27, 2004, he married Alysha Bush. On November 16, 2004, their son Colton Eugene was born. They survive of the home.

SPC Munger was in the United States Army Headquarters, Headquarters Company 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry, 101st Airborne-Air assault (task force Baghdad), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He previously served in the 82nd Airborne Division Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He also supported the war on terror being forwarded deployed to Afghanistan in 2003 in support of the Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). In 2004, he was forwarded deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).

Josh loved the outdoors and country life.

(Services:) 11:00 A.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The Family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:30 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Thursday. The Family suggests memorial gifts to eleven-month-old son, Colton Eugene Munger's Memorial Fund, c/o Commerce Bank. Military services at the grave under the auspices of Funeral Honors Guard, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, 101st Airborne-Assault Division.
