Dycie Womack Schaerer, 93, of Ooltewah, died on Tuesday, May 8, 2012.

She was a very active member of East Brainerd Baptist Church since 1959 and had taught children’s Sunday School, sang in the choir and served as a greeter.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon Womack and her second husband, Clarence Schaerer; a grandson, Treston Womack; seven sisters, Clara Turner, Etta Schaerer, Quinnie Turner, Lela Lowrie, Ora Lee McFarland, Polly Mozina and Nannie Thomas; one brother, Frank Ogelvie.

Survivors include three daughters, Frankie (Darrell) Bidwell of Marietta, Ga., Norma (Dennis) Varnell and Deborah (Wilson) Tittsworth, all of Ooltewah; one son, Garland (Debbie) Womack of Chattanooga; six grandchildren, Stacey Skinner, Kimberly Bishop, Darian Tittsworth, Bob Gallion, Keri Ritchie and Travis Womack; seven great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Essie Ogelvie; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, at the funeral home.
