Colchester/Richmond - Patrick H. Strong Sr., 75 died peacefully on Monday March 17, 2014 at the Vermont Respite House in Williston, surrounded by his loving family. Pat was born in Richmond on March 15, 1939, the son of James and Geraldine (Call) Strong. He had worked for most of his career as a Paint and Carpet Salesman for Bard Home Decorating. He also worked for Lowe Brothers and Sherwin Williams for many years. Patrick was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #10417 in Milton. On August 28, 1965, he married Carol Ellison in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Rutland. In addition to Carol, Pat is survived by his children Jay Strong and his wife Patricia of Fairbanks, Alaska, Patrick H. Strong Jr. and his wife Laurie of North Ferrisburg, and Ann Marriott of Colchester, by his grandchildren Evan, Renee and Jessica and by his sisters Connie Curran of Colorado, Barbara Hanlon of Merritt Island, FL and Mary Boccio of Burlington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 11 am in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Colchester. Burial will be in the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Richmond in the spring.
