U.S. Congressman. He graduated from St. Anthony's College Texas, in 1922 and was successful in the retail cigar business. He was a member of the Connecticut State Senate, (1939, 41, 43), served as assistant clerk of the New Haven City Court, (1941-43) and was vice president of the New Haven Central Labor Council, in 1942. In 1945, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-ninth Congress, serving until 1947. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed his previous business pursuits retiring in 1972 and later died at age 80.
