Fannie was born in Smyerstown (Canoe Twp.), Indiana Co., PA, the daughter of Blair George Berringer and Nellie Smyers. Fannie did not have a middle name. She married Walter DeLoss Pennington on May 14, 1947 in Knox Dale (Knox Twp.), Jefferson Co., PA.
Walter and Fannie were the parents of five children: Linda, Diane, Larry, Wanda and Debbie.

Fannie Pennington, 94, of Rossiter, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born in her family home in Rossiter [sic] on Sept. 19, 1927, a daughter of the late Blair Berringer and Nellie (Smyers) Berringer.
On May 14, 1947, she married Walter Pennington. They enjoyed nearly 52 years of marriage prior to his death on April 8, 1999. Together, they made their life in Rossiter and raised five children. Fannie was always a lady. She was humble and kind and very satisfied and thankful for what she had. She loved her home; it was a castle to her. She was always a hard worker and enjoyed housework and making a home for her family. She remained in her home up until her final days; for that, she was grateful and blessed.
Fannie was a member of Rossiter Valley Chapel Methodist Church. Her faith was incredibly strong; she began each day with "This is the day the Lord has made, we shall rejoice and be glad in it." She would also recite by memory 13 Bible verses.
Family and God were everything to Fannie. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and extended family.
She loved the weekly family gatherings at her daughter Linda's home and she liked playing table games and watching television.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane Moore and Linda Fetterman, both of Punxsutawney; eight grandchildren, Missy Fetterman, Jason (Judy) Fetterman, Amber Pennington, Jared (Brittney) Pennington, Adam Means, Misty (Jeff) Kimmerlee, Brandi (Greg) Peace and Tricia (Jason) Zartoss; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Shirley) Berringer of Marion Center; three in-laws, Lynn (Alan) Smith, Paul (Caryn) Stoll and Jeff Means; special nieces and nephews who called her every week, David and Debbie Kitchen, Burr and Sue Berringer, and Annette Darby; cousins Sam and Dennis Serian; dear friends Diane (Miller) Pfingstler, Alice Humble and Debbie (Luketich) Anderson; and people she would call when she needed help and were always there for her, Bubba Campagnola, Dave and Adison Wasicki, Larry and Terry Bair, Carla Lunger and John Urchuck.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Larry Pennington; two daughters, Wanda Means and Debbie Long; one grandson, Jimmy Long; four brothers, Joseph, Burr, Bill and Alex Berringer; four sisters, Hazel Neal, Della London, Cindy Swanson and Mary Rethi; and two sons-in-law, Denny Moore and Dick Fetterman.
