Obediah/Nancy are not on the 1850 census in KY at all. There is a memorial #43901234 for an O. Mitchel Basham and in Breckenridge but wrong mother/wife and I have proof of This Obediah's wife...my g-g-g-Aunt

Nov. 1861 promoted to 2nd LT
resigned commission because he was ill.
May 1, 1862 in Tennessee
Their son, since the name is the same, Obediah. However the amount of OBEDIAH BASHAM's born-living-died in the county of Breckenridge, Kentucky is over whelming, to say the least. But I do have proof of the Obediah born 1831-32 and 2nd Lt. in the 27th KY Inf died 1862 and married to Hannah and son Henry.
And the marriage of Obediah M. Mitchel and
Nancy Payne-Basham (this being my ancestor Payne)
Nancy's mother was a BASHAM born to William BASHAM JR and
Sarah Shrewsbury.
