William Noyce Hall 1931 - 2014 SHAFTSBURY William "Bill," "Stub" Noyce Hall, 82, a resident of Reafield Farm Road in Salem, N.Y., passed peacefully Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center, with his loving family surrounding him He was born in Shaftsbury, Sep. 12, 1931. He was the son of the late William H. and Gwendolyn Gertrude Bump Hall. He received his education in Shaftsbury. He joined the service in January of 1951 and served with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper, during the Korean War, where he had 34 jumps. He was a brave soldier just as so many others who have courageously served our country. While in the service, William also served as an Honor Guard at the White House. He was honorably discharged in 1954 as a Corporal. He married the former Ida Adams LaFlamme on Sep. 1, 1958, in Easton, N.Y., who died May 26, 2010. For many years William worked as a construction worker for the Laborers Local Union 190 and later became a self-employed contractor building houses. He was a member of the Buskirk Fire Department and for the last 6 1/2 years, was a honorary member. Survivors include seven children and their spouses, Damasse "Joseph" LaFlamme and his wife, Rebecca, of Pittsfield, Mass., Christopher LaFlamme and his wife, Sharon, of Cambridge, N.Y., Mary Gratz and her husband, Robert, of Shaftsbury, Antoinette "Toni" Callahan Vogt and her husband, Gene, of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Lucian "Rodney" LaFlamme and his wife, Karen, of Eagle Bridge, N.Y., Susan Blocker and her husband, Lester, of Salem, N.Y. and Charles "Hap" Hall of Cambridge, N.Y.; over 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Richmond Hall and his wife, Mary, of Shaftsbury; four sisters, Marilynne Harrington, Roberta Reynolds, and Helen Squires, all of Shaftsbury, and Donna Pradon of Maine, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Rufus Hall, and a sister, Faye Wilson Gillis FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service to celebrate the life of William Hall will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Hoosick Falls Community Alliance Church on Hill Road in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. The burial will follow at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge, New York If friends desire, contributions in memory of William N.
