Lois Pflueger, age 89, of Ortonville, MN, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 25, 2014 in Asheville, NC.
She was the daughter of the late United States Senator and Governor of Minnesota, Elmer A. Benson, and Frances L. Benson. Lois attended public schools in Appleton, St. Paul, and Washington D.C. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. degree in 1947. Lois was married to Robert Pflueger on Saturday, March 20, 1948 in Appleton, MN.
Lois was also preceded in death by her; husband, Robert R. Pflueger; and her sister & brother-in-law, Marguerite and Vince Stegner.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Ann and husband Jon Kemske; grandson, Nickolas Kemske and wife Abigail; great-grandson, Kale; and her brother, Thomas H. Benson and wife Leatrice.
Lois was a member of the Ortonville Hospital Board, Recreation Board and Library Board. She was a lifetime member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, Past Matron of the Ortonville Laurel Crown chapter of the Eastern Star, a lifetime member of the University of Minnesota Alumni Association and a member of the President's Club of the University of Minnesota.
The interment will be held at Mound Cemetery in Ortonville, MN.
