"Mrs. Verna L. Stroud, 68, of 442 N. Colorado, died Sunday at the home. She was born in Maryville, Mo., and had lived here most of her life. She was a member of the Fifteenth Street Baptist Church. She leaves a son, John M. Stroud of Kansas City; four daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Dillee of the home, Mrs. Beverly Post of Clinton, Mo., Mrs. Susan Breidel of Independence and Mrs. Betty Molino, Kansas City; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Earp Truman Road Chapel; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, July 22, 1980
