Pennington Pedigrees, Volumes 35-36, lists her date of birth as December 1, 1864 while The Baldwin Genealogy lists it as October 1, 1864. On the 1900 Census her birth information is December 1865.

Annie Pennington Cronkhite was the daughter of Major General Alexander C.M. Pennington, United States Army and Clara Miller French Pennington. She died on Thursday, April 28, 1932 in New York City. She was predeceased by her son, Major Alexander P. Cronkhite of the 213th Engineers, who died at Camp Lewis near Seattle, Washington on October 25, 1918. Survivors included her husband, Major General Adelbert Cronkhite who commanded the Eightieth Division in the World War (I) and one daughter, Dorothy Cronkhite Young. Funeral services and interment were held at West Point.
