US Congressman. Elected to represent Wisconsin's 1st District in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1893 to 1919, and from 1921 until his death in 1931. He also served as a Member of the Wisconsin State Senate from 1887 to 1889, and as a Delegate to the Republican National Convention from Wisconsin in 1924. He was also an attorney.
