Corp. Jared William Kubasak, 25, of Rocky Mount, died Monday, December 12, 2005 in Iraq. He was a 1999 graduate of Franklin County High School and was an U.S. Army Veteran (enlisting May 2000). At the time of his death he was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, Troop I, 3rd ACR CAV Scout. Jared was preceded in death by his grandmother Virginia Lovins; grandfather Daniel Kubasak. Surviving are his parents, Darel and Daina Kubasak; grandmother, Ivalee Kubasak; grandfather, Floyd Smoroske; one aunt; one uncle; several cousins; two special friends, Desiree and Darcie Smith. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel, 11 a.m. Friday December 23, 2005, officiated by a U.S. Army Chaplain. Interment will follow in Callaway Community Cemetery with full military honors. Memorial contributions be made in Jared's name to a favorite charity. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday December 22, 2005, with his family receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
