Specialist United State Army AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest in Iraq, Thursday, December 15, 2005, Joseph Alan Lucas, Sr., 23, husband of Heather Nichole Johnson Lucas of Augusta. Spec. Lucas is also survived by his son, Joseph Alan "L.J." Lucas, Jr.; brothers, Jeffery Lucas, Jr. of Phippsburg, Maine, Jason Lucas, Drew Lucas, Jeremiah Lucas, John Lucas and Dwight Lucas all of Wiscasset, Maine; mother, Barbara Davis of Augusta; father, Jeffery Lucas, Sr. and his wife, April, of Wiscasset, Maine; maternal grandmother, Anita Rouleau of Plattsburg, N.Y.; maternal grandfather, Richard Davis of Ill.; paternal grandfather, Burleigh Lucas, Sr. of Wolwich, Maine; paternal grandmother, Beatrice Moody of New Sharon, Maine; and his mother and father-in-law; Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Johnson of Augusta; sisters-in-law, Rhonda Morris (Darryl) of Harlem, Karen Williams (Butch) of Martinez; brothers-in-law, Ricky Johnson and Bobby Johnson, both of Augusta; nieces, Amanda Hoffman and Brooke Johnson; nephews, Joshua Gregory, Dustin Morris, Alden Williams and Colby Lucas; great- niece, Madison Hoffman. Spec. Lucas was a native of Fort Knox, Ky., and lived in Bath, Maine, until he was 15 years old and then came to Augusta. He was a member of the Lake Side Baptist Church in Clearwater, S.C. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 27, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Lake Side Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Reese officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffery Lucas, Jr., Jason Lucas, Ryan Brown, Dennis Gibbs, Jr., Paul Glosson, Jr., Butch Williams and Darrell Morris. Interment with Military Honors will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family requests that memorials be made to the Joseph Alan Lucas, Jr. Trust Fund, c/o Georgia Bank and Trust, P.O.
