Born in Acushnet, daughter of the late Michael J. and Rose (Lemos) Seifert, she was a life-long resident of New Bedford.
Betty graduated from Greater New Bedford Vocational Technical High School. She later worked as a Cafeteria Worker in the New Bedford School Department for many years before retiring.
She enjoyed cooking, camping and loved to watch the red sox.
Survivors include: her sons, Steven M, Goodman and his wife Marie of Somerset and Scott J. Goodman and his wife Angela of North Carolina; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Pearl Baptista and Martha Mott-Souza.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 10:30 AM in the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours, Wednesday 4-7 PM.
