According to his death certificate, Jesse was a widower but I haven't found his wife's death information yet. He had lived in the Corpus Christi area for 16 years and worked as a rancher. His father was Will H Fant and his mother was Mary Ann Barber Fant. Jesse was married to a woman named Fannie according to the 1910 census. They had two children but only one was living. That child was a daughter Sylvia Arene Fant Maley (1906-1997). Jesse was married to a woman names Mary by the 1920 census. Mary had a middle initial of T according to the 1930 census.

He was buried on May 23, 1966 by the Clifford Jackson Funeral Home.

Jesse Monroe Fant, 81, resident of Electra from 1914 to 1940, died May 21 in a Corpus hospital after a short illness. He had been an area rancher around Corpus for 25 years.

He was born in Hillsboro and was a member of the Electra Masonic Lodge No. 1067 AF&AM.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. May 23 in the Clifford-Jackson Funeral Chapel with Dr. Wallace R. Rogers, pastor of the Parkdale Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Seaside Memorial Park.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. W.A. Maley of Houston, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren._
