Rev. William Dewitt Taylor was the son of James and Rebecca Taylor. His 1st wife and a son died in 1885. He married Harriet Sophia (Hayes) Taylor July 19, 1860 and she died February 17, 1887. He was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: East Genesee Conference 1859 F 1862 Central New York Conference by change of boundaries 1872 Located 1875 Readmitted Genesee (now Western New York) Conference 1879. He died Canoe Camp. He was principal of Prattsburg Academy, Prattsburg, NY 1859 - principal of Bloomfield Academy, Bloomfield, NY 1861-1862 - principal of Mansfield State Normal School, Mansfield, PA 1863
