Milton C. Baldridge, age 88, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away peacefully at home with his children present on Saturday, April 5, 2014. He was born in the City of New York, New York, on May 22, 1925, to Milton and Dorris (Bryant) Baldridge. He graduated from Bronxville (NY) High School in June, 1942, ranking 5th in his class academically. He graduated, cum laude, from Harvard College after only 27 months of study in 1944, and entered the U.S. Naval Reserves as an ensign. He served in the Pacific Theatre commanding an amphibious landing craft until after the end of World War II. He married Patricia A. Beckett in October 11, 1950, and remained her devoted husband for over 60 years until her death in 2011. Milton graduated from Harvard Business School, Magna Cum Laude, as a Baker Scholar in 1957. The loving father of three children, David, Peter and Susan, he worked for several employers, including Standford Research Institute International, TRW, and the Whittaker Corporation until 1967. He was then a partner in an economic research firm and a Lecturer in Finance at USC for seven years each, and later counseled small business in Clear Lake California. He retired to Roseburg in 1990, where he served as a SCORE volunteer, and was an active member of St. George's Episcopal Church. In addition to his wife he is predeceased by his son, David. Milton is survived by his son, Peter A. Baldridge of Sacramento, CA; daughter, Susan B. (Sue) Bailey and her husband Greg Bailey of Roseburg; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Murphy of Bronxville N.Y.; and his beloved lab/shepherd Tinka. Special thanks to long time friend and caregiver Mary Oshocki and companion Virginia Skala. Memorial Eucharist is scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday April 26, 2014, at St. George's Episcopal Church. The Reverend JoAnne Bennett and Reverend Sherman Hesselgrave presiding. Inurnment will take place at St. Peter's Episcopal Church Columbarium in San Pedro, CA.
