VALLEY VIEW — Ervin Franklin Belz, 74, of Valley View passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 5, 2006, at his home. He was born June 13, 1931, in Valley View to Alfred A. and Gertrude Bryandt Belz. He graduated from Valley View High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was in the men’s apparel and jewelry business until 1975 when he formed his own wholesale jewelry company, FB Gold Co. He retired from the jewelry company in 1982 and moved to the farm in Valley View and raised cattle and baled hay. He also did custom baling, Belz Brothers Custom Hay Baling.

He married JoAnn Spindle on Dec. 12, 1954, in Arlington. He was a farmer and rancher and a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, for visitation.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, at the Sanger Church of Christ with Neil Trice officiating; interment will be at the Valley View Cemetery in Valley View.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Belz of Valley View; daughter, Donna Trice and husband Neil of Valley View; son, Mark Belz and wife Pam of Fort Worth; sister, Geneva Lane of Denton; brother, Roy Belz of Valley View; grandchildren, Laci Brown and Jeff Brown of Denton, Jed Trice of Valley View and Zac Belz of Fort Worth; and great-grandchild Josie Brown of Denton.

Memorials may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Chil­dren, 2222 Welborn St., Dallas, TX 75219; telephone 214-559-5000.
