LOCATION OR BATTLE ZONE: BUNKER HILL - HILL 1051 AREA
Private First Class Vaillancourt was a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy near the 38th Parallel on May 18, 1951.

He died at a mining camp near Pong-jung, North Korea from Beriberi on August 31, 1951.

His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
