Ruth M. Kowalski, age 80, of Marinette, WI passed away on Friday, May 27, 2005. She was born Oct. 20, 1924 in Niagara, WI to the late Mr. and Mrs. Iver (Cora Gumm) Knutson.

On Feb. 25, 1949 she married Bernard P. Kowalski and he preceded her in death on June of 1997.
She graduated from Marinette Vocational School with a certificate in Child Care. She continued her education at NWTI and received certification in Early Childhood Care. She worked at several local businesses but took special pride in being a licensed foster parent and working on the farm with her husband.

Survivors include her children: Gerald (Mary Ann) Kowalski, Bonnie Payne, Helen Kitchen (fiance Pat Harding), John (Ruth) Kowalski, Mrs. Jeff (Mary) Skorik, Mrs. Greg (Alice) Peanosky and Bernard (Debbie) Kowalski;
16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren;
a brother, Kenneth of Des Moines, IA.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren Christine and Jeremy; special foster son, Bobby Miller ; five brothers and five sisters.

A funeral mass was held Tuesday, May 31 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church on Carney Blvd, Marinette with Rev. Joseph Dorner officiating. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery.
