Green Miller was the only son born to Green Edward Miller, Sr and Ruby Curry Miller January 14, 1948 while his father was station in Germany.
While growing up, Green attended Enterprise High School located in Enterprise, Alabama where he played football and quickly became known as the handsome, happy-go-lucky kid next door. After high school he attended Enterprise Jr. College in Enterprise, Alabama but was drafted in the Army October 1968 when he didn't register for college.
Green served in the United States Army, Selective Service, and attained the rank of SSGT E5. He began his tour of duty in Vietnam on November 3, 1969. May 10, 1970, Green's family was notified that he was Missing in Action and ten days later his family received the devastating news that he was Killed In Action.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Regina Williams-Miller, his parents, Green Sr., and Ruby Miller, his only sister, Martha Miller, his father-in-law, E7 K. P. Williams (who also served in Vietnam) and mother-in-law, Hazel Williams who dearly loved him. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Full military service for Green was held in Enterprise, Alabama at Searcy Funeral Home on June 3, 1970. He is buried at Medowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise, Alabama. Sgt Miller's name is etched in the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington DC, Panel 11W ~ Line 104.
Green Miller tried to save his friend Ivory Lee McKinney when he walked into a North Vietnam ambush. They both lost their life on that day. Ivory McKinney (b. Apr. 22, 1949 d. May 5, 1970) is also entered on find a grave website. Please visit Ivory's page to leave a token.
