William “Bill” F. Fryman, of Decatur, IL, passed away on May 21, 2014.
Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Decatur, IL.
Bill was born in 1926 to Lilly Margaret (Anthony) Fryman and Cecil Fryman in Cowley County, Kansas. He married Verneal Jane Rentfro on January 9, 1949.
Bill served in the Army Air Force in the 1940's. He worked for A.E. Staley for 37 years, retiring in 1983. At the time of his retirement he was part of the plant maintenance management team.
Bill Fryman loved the outdoors! He enjoyed gardening at home and loved camping and boating at Lake Shelbyville. Bill was most happy when he was with family, especially his sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Verneal Jane; sons William Michael (Diane), Doug (Dina), John (Patricia), Steve (Becky), all of Decatur; and daughter-in-law Linnea. William’s surviving grandchildren are Kelly (Adam, fiancé) of Columbia, SC, Ellen (Mel) of Carbondale, IL, Hillary (Roger, fiancé) of Springfield, IL, Molly of Oxford, MS, Matthew of Decatur, IL, Bradley of Normal, IL, Connor of Decatur, IL, Will of Calvert City, KY, and Tiffany of Decatur; great grandchildren Lillian and Brennan.
Bill is also survived by his sister Virginia of Smyrna, TN and nieces Cecilia (Dick) of Smyrna, TN, Nancy (Bob) of Decatur, IL and Teri (Randy) of Decatur, IL.
Mr. Fryman was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, and son Thomas Fryman.
Bill Fryman’s family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of FairHavens Christian Home, Dr. Esparaz, and Safe Haven Hospice for their many weeks of caring for Bill during his illness.
