Charles Simpson enlisted in Co.D,6th Michigan Cavalry as a Corporal on September 5,1862 at Burns,Michigan.He was discharged to accept a promotion as First Lieut. of Co.B,11th Michigan Cavalry at its organization on October 6,1863. He was promoted to Captain on February 1,1864 and was discharged at Pulaski,Tennessee on August 10,1865.He became a minister and was living in Detroit when he died of a skull fracture after a fall from a streetcar at the age of 77.
