He was the son of Arthur and Pansy (Bilbrey) McCowan. On Jun 26, 1981, he married Pat Will, who survives in Coldwater.
Also surviving are a son, Gary, Upland, IN; a daughter, Jackie (Tim) Sheridan, Ft. Recovery; seven grandchildren: Cpl. Ethen Sheridan, Fort Benning, GA, Emilie, Owen and Aidan Sheridan, Ft. Recovery, and Jacob, Tasha and Elijah McCowan, Redkey, IN; and mother-in-law, Millie Will, Ft. Recovery.
He retired from Fort Recovery Industries after 39 years. He was a lifelong Bengals fan and an outdoorsman and actively followed the Cubs baseball and Indiana University basketball teams.
A Celebration of Life is at the First Freewill Baptist Church, Dunkirk, IN, with the Rev. Delmar McCowan officiating.
