FRANCES SMITH BROCKENBOUGH was the daughter of Charles Mathew Smith (1872-1951) and Caretta Thompson Smith (1871-1928) of Shawsville, Montgomery County, Virginia. She married Andrew Brockenbough on August 31, 1946 in Wilmington, Delaware. She was his third wife. Francis Smith Brockenbough was the mother of Robert Smith, Sr. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Passed away, age 104, Jan. 26, 2013. Beloved mother of Robert Smith Gwen; also survived by three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great- grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. Visitation Wed., 9:00 a.m. until time of service 10 a.m. at GEORGE A. WARDEN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1100 N. Homewood Ave., Pgh., PA 15208, 412-241-3838. Internment: St. Peter's Cemetery."
