Son of Enoch and Anna (Pitkin) Perkins. Graduated Yale - 181. Studied law and was admitted to the bar in Hartford. Member of the State Senate and of the House.

Married 7 November 1827 to Mary Foote Beecher, daughter of Dr. Lyman and Roxanna (Foote) Beecher. Four known children.

Birth and death dates from Hale Collection of Cemetery Inscriptions and Newspaper Notices, 1629-1934. The Chapin Genealogy by Gilbert W. Chapin and the Yale Obituary Records says death date was Oct. 11, 1870 rather than Oct. 4.
