BLOUNTVILLE - William H. Morehead, 75, 116 Eagle View, Blountville, died Friday (Nov. 12, 2004) in the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mr. Morehead was a native of Kannapolis, N.C., a son of the late Arthur and Chloe Deskins Morehead. He had lived in the Tri-Cities area for the past 21 years and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Blountville.

Mr. Morehead retired from the U.S. Army as a chief warrant officer III with 20 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Morehead later enjoyed a second career of 17 years at Sears where he worked in outside sales.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Morehead was preceded in death by his first wife, Irma Ingram Morehead in 1992.(9 Oct 1928 - 14 Jul 1992)

Survivors include his wife, Georgianna Hale Morehead of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, William "Billy" and Megan Morehead of Maryville, Tenn.; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Brent Murray of Sanford, Fla.; a stepdaughter and husband, Jennifer and Tim Robinson of Bluff City; a granddaughter and her husband, Sabrina and Tony Chrzaszcz of Sanford, Fla.; and two grandsons, Staff Sgt. Clinton Murray and his wife Sgt. Allison Murray of Ft. Knox, Ky., and Patrick Morehead, Maryville, Tenn.; two stepgrandchildren, Nelson Elliott and Haley Robinson, both of Bluff City; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Minton of Bristol, Tenn., and Jackie Haven of Nashville; three brothers, Jim Morehead and O'Neill Morehead, both of Kingsport, and Ken Morehead of San Antonio, Tex.; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Morris-Baker Funeral Home, Johnson City.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the South Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Eddie Zimmerman officiating.

The service of entombment will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Mausoleum at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Military honors will be accorded by the VFW Post #3382 of Kingsport. Everyone will meet at 10:50 a.m. in the mausoleum for the service.
