Mr. Stempek, age 77 years, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born July 19, 1936 in Standish, Michigan to the late James & Alice (Compo) Stempek. He married Majorie Meyette on February 2, 1957 at St. Michael's Catholic Church. He retired from General Motors in Saginaw as an electrician after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and of the Ice Plane Club. Don enjoyed hunting, working on tractors and cars but most of spending time with his family. Surviving besides his wife of 57 years are their children Donald (Kathleen) Stempek, Kendall Stempek, Randall (Leslie) Stempek, Lawrence Stempek and Renee (Dean) Rabish, grandchildren; Christopher Stempek, Jessica (Robert) Roesner, Rebecca Stempek, Randall and Lauren Stempek, Matthew, Darren, Justin and Nicholas Rabish, four sisters and four brothers, many nieces and nephews, and many cherished friends. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 11 am from St. Michael's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Richard Jozwiak and Deacon Gary Patelski presiding with burial in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the family's wishes.
