He worked at the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot for thirty-eight years and retired as a supervisor. He was a member of First Church of the Brethren, Carlisle; and a member of the American Legion Post 421, Newville and a member of A.A.R. P. Dale liked model railroading and building things, having built the home he and his family lived in and spending time with his family.
He was a US Army Air Corps veteran of WWII.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-six years, Verna I. Meals George of Carlisle; three children, Dale G. George, Jr. (and wife, Patricia) of Carlisle, Pamela Youch (and husband, Joseph) of New Cumberland and Lisa Zalewski (and husband, Raymond) of Mt. Holly Springs; one brother Cloyd George, Jr. of Florida; one sister, Patsy Myers of Carlisle; seven grandchildren, Phillip (and his wife, Sarah), Timothy (and his wife, Samantha), Alysia, Ryan, Austin, Madison, and Lily; and one great-grandchild, Carter.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Clover Mclaughlin and five brothers, Charles, Chester, Glenn, Galen and Roy George.
