She was the daughter of Thomas Goldthwaite and Anne Wilson.
She married Dec. 30, 1830, in Montgomery, Alabama, to John Archibald Campbell, later Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, and moved to Mobile, Alabama. They lived in Mobile through the Civil War and in the 1870s moved to Baltimore.

The John Archibald Campbell Federal Courthouse in Mobile is named for her husband.
