JACK CORNWELL Peacefully, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Victoria General Hospital,

Jack Cornwell passed away at the age of 88 years. Jack will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Betty, their children: Cathy Cornwell Brown (George Foster), Leslie Cornwell (Glenn Paulley), Kim (Brian) Hagan, grandchildren: Aaron, Erika, Samantha, Andrew, Ryan, brother-in-law Jim (Viv) Pearn, nieces Lynne, Patti, and favourite nephew Kenny.

Jack and Betty were married for 60 years. He was always a jokester and a true family man. He was a volunteer for 30 years at the Y.M.C.A. He completed several Manitoba Marathons and came in 3rd in his age category in his 60s where he received a Bronze Medal. He always encouraged his family to be physically fit even if the girls rode in the car to each pit stop to cheer him on. He served in the Second World War and was stationed in Halifax.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013 at The United Church in Meadowood, 1111 Dakota with Reverend Hope Mattus officiating. A private family interment will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.

A special thank you, to the absolutely lovely nurses and Dr. Cavers, for their loving care given to Jack and his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memory of Jack, to the Manitoba Marathon Foundation, or the charity of one's choice.
