Anna Scheszler, born in Weimer, Sazony, Germany, arrived in 1884 America with her parents. The 1900 US census shows Godfried, Anna and their six children living in Oshkosh, Wells Co., North Dakota. They ultimately settled in Okeene, Oklahoma in 1903. Their children include: Emelia, Mrs. G.C. Sherrard, born 12 Oct 1885, died 29 Dec 1971; Maude, Mrs. Milton Sherrard; William O.; Henry J., born 17 November 1891, died 21 Jul 1976; John Fred, born 5 October 1893, died 25 May 1925; Arthur Herman, born 5 June 1898, died 15 May 1987; Edith O., Mrs. Leo Julian Tripp and Ruth M., Mrs. Chester H. Harris. One three year old son died prior to 1900. After the death of Godfried in 1908, Mrs. Schlechter married Henry George Geis in May, 1919 (his third wife).
